Who we are
This website is run by SPYNX LTD (company number 17532963, registered in England and Wales), which runs the Muay Thai Pad Class and the SPYNX Training Method. We are the data controller for the personal information you give us through this site. You can contact us about anything in this policy at training@spynx.co.uk.
What we collect
When you book a class we collect:
- your first and last name, email address and phone number
- your training partner's name, if you book for two people
- the plan and class dates you choose, whether you are renting gloves, and how you want to pay
- whether you are under 18 and, if so, confirmation that a parent or guardian has agreed
- anything you choose to tell us in the message box, such as your experience level or an injury
We don't take payments on this website. You pay on the day by card or bank transfer, and we keep a record of what you paid.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website.
Why we use it and our legal basis
- To manage your booking, contact you about your classes and record your payment. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
- To run classes safely, for example knowing about an injury you have told us about. Legal basis: your explicit consent, which you give by including it in your message. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
- To keep financial records for tax and accounting. Legal basis: legal obligation.
- To stop misuse of the free first class. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in offering one free class per person.
We will never sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.
Who we share it with
- Netlify, which hosts this website and stores booking form submissions.
Netlify acts on our instructions under data processing terms. Some of its processing takes place outside the UK, including in the USA. Where it does, it is protected by approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
We may also share information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep booking details for up to 24 months after your last class, then delete them. Payment and accounting records are kept for 6 years, as required by HMRC.
Under 18s
Classes are open to ages 14 and over. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to you attending before you book.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your information
- restrict or object to how we use it
- send your information to you or another organisation
Email training@spynx.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it secure
The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), loads no third-party tracking code, and limits who can access booking information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
